Old gaming FTW
Hey hey,
Y’know, I still don’t have a PC that can handle playing games like Left 4 Dead, Half Life 2 or any new and exciting games. Not that Half Life is actually that new!
That’s why I thank God for Abandonware, and also awesome games which you can still buy like Warcraft II.
You’d be interested to know that even if you don’t own a legit copy (and I own two for some reason) you can probably pirate yourself one (or Starcraft) and play on the Asian Battle.Net servers with your friends – nobody is there anymore, therefore nobody’s keys are there either…
I’ve also been dabbling with early version of The Settlers, Dungeon Keeper, Fallout 1 & 2 and Heaven & Hell.
And yes, I will be adding more games here over time. But as you all know, I don’t just add anything. It’s only games I like
Old games FTW.

Looking forward to the updates!
But here’s a tricky question for you. I’m a big fan of the old Settlers games, and Settlers II in particular. I know it was possible to play the game splitscreen as long as you had two mice attached to the computer, though in those days that would’ve meant PS/2 and serial or multiple serial mice. Sadly the computer here only has USB ports available, and multiple mice therefore aren’t recognised separately by DOSBox. Are you aware of any workaround that might solve this problem?

Hello all, I have a fairly newish computer with decent specs built by myself, and i still find my self coming back to abandonware sites, i just recently checked this one and found a few games i might try, keep up the good work!
also when i found out this site was run by chicks, i was startled to say the least, ther are FAR to few girls that enjoy games in my opinion.
Props to you all.

i googled in the term thank god for abandonware, and i found your cool article. i have to 100 % agree with you
my computer is 8 years old, and i can still play games like civ 4, but the list is very short, for many games, so abandonware is the cure.
its ridicolous how the even demos of today are a few gigs,i got an xbox 360,and thats the norm in pc and console demos these days, but big size doesnt equal big fun. and awesome graphics doesnt mean an awesome game.
i still enjoy civ 1 over civ 4, i must say fallout 3 is way better than fallout 1 though.
if you want a cheap pc to play new games, without worrying about upgrading, get a xbox 360, (ps theres even arcade games you can buy, some are old school too)
but yay for abandonware, because the games are cool, and its free!!!! free shit rules like they get in denmark!

The games are not so important as you think, old ones are even better!
